Rua (20-6 MMA, 4-4 UFC) fights for the first time since his "Fight of the Year" loss to Dan Henderson at UFC 139. Prior to the five-round slobber-knocker, Rua rebounded from a title loss to Jon Jones with a first-round knockout of Forrest Griffin.
Vera (12-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC), meanwhile, most recently snapped a three-fight winless streak (with losses to Randy Couture and Jones, and a no-contest with Thiago Silva) by earning a unanimous-decision victory over Eliot Marshall at UFC 137. He fights for the first time in 10 months.
It previews UFC on FOX 4, which takes place Saturday, and spotlights the event's main-card bouts, including a Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Brandon Vera light-heavyweight headliner.

KMG wordt geleid door Eyal Yanilov. Eyal is een directe leerling van Imi, de grondlegger van Krav Maga. Bijgestaan door het Global Training Team reist Eyal de wereld rond om Krav Maga te promoten. Eyal Yanilov heeft zowel IKMF (International Krav Maga Federation) als KMG (Krav Maga Global) opgestart, en is degene die o.a. ook te zien was op de episodes van History Channel en die ook te zien is in de DVDs van Ultimate Krav Maga, en samen met Imi een van de eerste boeken over Krav Maga geschreven heeft.
In 1992 formuleerde Imi Lichtenfeld de wens om een internationale vereniging op te richten om op het internationale karakter van Krav Maga aan te geven. In 1995 werd zijn droom werkelijkheid toen de Internationale Krav Maga Federatie (IKMF) opgericht werd te Netanya, Israël. Tot 2010 was Eyal voorzitter van het IKMF, waarna hij Krav Maga Global opgericht heeft.

Hello, my name is Rogmans Benny, 44 years and living in Dessel. I started at age of ten with judo under Jef Meynaerts at a local club in Herselt until nineteen years old.
Then I went at the army to the green/red barets. During my carreer I did a course for close combat instructor wich is one of the heaviest courses of the barets.
I was stationed at 1 BN Para at Diest untill 2011.When 1 Para was abolished, I was stationed at 3 Para at Tielen , where I am Headinstructor close combat now.
Looking for a good judo school , I came out at SAMURAI Eindhout owned by the family Pauwels. They are very well know in the judo world with much champions . Rene Pauwels started this club in 1979 and become 2nd dan in judo.
His sons, Herman ( 5nd dan), Karl ( 2nd dan ), Rony ( 5nd Dan) all became Belgium champs and won al lot of international tournaments. Here I found what I was looking for, fighting spirit and many sparringpartners.
In 1996 I heard of a man called LEON VAN DIJK , he proved to be a very good pancrase fighter and sparringpartner of BAS RUTTEN.
I was thinking PANCRASE??? What the hell is that? So I went for training with Leon... this was the revelation for me !!!! This guy was 220.5 lbs pure dynamite and steel , I couldn't believe it... At the sparring session I got really beat up and had to tap out every ten seconds... There I stood with my big luggage of experience but it seems to be not enough against this machine because we trained without kimono and he did some submissions I never saw before... He was nr 4 of the world ranking at that time...
Mentally frustrated I drove home after this first training but it had such impact that it was my drive to continue..Leon trained me for many years so I became a good all round fighter and he is still one of my best buddy's .
In 1999 I was in Bosnia for a military operation where I got a telephone if I wanted to fight in Moskou... Mmmm, that's going te be nice... I agreed ...Few moments later I got another phone that the fight was in a octagon without too many rules ... Bare knuckles, headbutts... all allowed ...
Still I took the challenge and Leon gave me a Spartan preparation and a great experience .This was at Absolute Fighting Championships VII.
At another military operation in Kosovo I had an invitation to fight a vale tudo against the close combat instructor of the foreign legion . This guy was really strong but I won within 2 minutes with a guillotine .
Later that year I had an fight against Daan Kooiman of Team Schreiber, a tough guy of Bob Schreiber, a well know fighter all over the world.It was the first time that it was allowed in Belgium to fight a MMA fight. I won this fight after three rounds with unanimous decision. This was a very nice introduction of MMA in Belgium.
After many fights I started my own gym in MMA... TEAM TOPFIGHTER was born!

This small project takes us into Thiago's training methods, a short career highlight and a peek into his partners' lives as a leading team in Mixed Martial Arts.
Thiago Alves is a Brazilian mixed martial artist. He started training in Muay Thai when he was 15 and mixed martial arts at 17. He is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has been described as a "Muay Thai wrecking machine". He is currently ranked the #3 welterweight in the world by multiple MMA sites.
Thiago had his first professional bout at the age of 15, against a 25-year-old man, and won the bout by unanimous decision.
At the age of 19, Thiago relocated from Brazil to Coconut Creek Florida to join the prestigious American Top Team camp. From there he put together key wins against Mike Littlefeild, Nuri Shakir, Marcus Davis and Jason Chambers.
Thiago then received his opportunity to fight in the UFC where he has hefted John Alessio by unanimous decision and KO'd Derrik Noble, Ansar Chalangnov, Karo Parisyan, and UFC welterweight legend Matt Hughes.
Thiago is a very dangerous fighter whose aggressive style is always sure to be a crowd pleaser. And at the young age of 26 years old is sure to be a threat in the UFC welterweight division for years to come.
|| Career || Direkçi started the martial arts at the age of 15. He is trained by Jan Gooyvaers with full of competitiveness up against other students in Belgium for 9 years. After that he changed his trainer, Jan Pasztjerik from the Netherlands since 1999. Direkci has switched his career on top martial arts organization K-1 in 2007 with a sparkling debut against former world champion Albert Kraus ...in K-1 World MAX 2007 Japan Tournament when he knocked Kraus out in the first round. This victory caused him to extend his contract with K-1. In 2009 He become the first ever It's Showtime 70MAX (70 kg) champion by defeating Gago Drago and went on to defend his title two times before losing it to Chris Ngimbi in late 2010.
|| Personal Life || Murat Direkçi is the middle son of three siblings, originally from the Turkish city of Konya (Derebucak). He had a very painful upbringing, with his sister Nuray passing away at the age of 4 due to a brain tumor. After completing his primary school education, Murat studied at technical school with the intention of becoming an electrician. After a short while, he found a job as a doorman at a nightclub in Antwerp nights, and realized that it suited him better. He had found a job that he enjoyed, and subsequently ended up working there for 6 years in which time he gained a lot fighting knowledge and experience. During this time, his elder brother Ercan took care of him while their father had a busy schedule working two shifts per day. Ercan also played the role of being his sparring mate, and was his closest friend. Ercan was also instrumental in the founding of Murat's Gym. Unfortunately, Ercan died in 2004 as a result of a traffic accident. He was only 29.

Jackson, die bezig is met een goede reeks overwinningen en een opmars maakt bij de superwelters, is nog altijd in de running voor een Europese titel.
Naast deze 3 fantastische kampen hebben de organisatoren inmiddels ook de bevestiging gekregen van deelname door Harut Grigorian, Rustemi Kreshnik en Abdel el Ouadi aan dit belangrijke Belgische evenement. Interessant om weten is dat Rustemi Kreshnik die avond zijn professionele boksdebuut zal maken voor zijn eigen geliefde Antwerpse publiek.
Universal Gym olv Murat Direkçi bestaat nu uit twee afdelingen:Deurne & Berchem.Hier worden de avondlessen gegeven aan beginners recreanten en wedstrijd vechters.Berchem bij de gym Muscle World is ontstaan als een springplank toe naar Merksem,de kampioenen stal van Murat him self.Ook werken we nauw samen met de stad Antwerpen om onze jeugd er toe aan te zetten om Thai boksen te volgen en zo te laten zien dat dit echt wel een sport is waar discipline,conditie en techniek op de bovenste rij staan.Zo werken we samen met Jespo,buurtsport,Kids,...en geven we aan deze vele associaties en workshops mee!Ook vooral in de zogezegde "probleemwijken" waar veel agressie zou zijn,om zo aan te tonen dat met Thai Boksen het probleem tot nul herleid wordt.
Gorilla MMA is een team waar u volgende sporten kan beoefenen: Mixed Martial Arts (M.M.A.), Braziliaans Jiu Jitsu en Grappling. In onze clubs zijn zowel recreanten als competitievechters welkom. De trainingen worden aangepast aan ieders niveau.
